By car

There is only one toll road in the county of Komárom-Esztergom, namely the M1 motorway. The road cuts the county in half with almost geometric precision, while it touches the most important cities of Tatabánya, Bábolna, Ács, Tata, and goes near Komárom from Budapest to the west.

With the county sticker, you can drive as far as Bicské in Fejér county, and as far as Győrszentiván junctions in Győr-Moson-Sopron. A special feature is that the Komárom-Esztergom county sticker entitles you to use the M19 as well as the M1.

The county of Komárom-Esztergom can also be reached, on highway number 1 Budapest XI. starts from the district and continues to Hegyeshalom, more precisely to the border crossing there, also touching the cities of Tatabánya, Komárom and Győr. Its total length is a little more than 177 kilometers (177.031 miles).

Slovakia

Accessibility, highway information, border crossing, speed limits

Hungary shares a very long border section with Slovakia, which is why most of the border crossings are located on this section, 23 in total. You can find more information HERE! It is worth checking each tour entrance to see which border crossing is closest to it and it is worth crossing there.

There is a charge for using the motorway throughout Slovakia! That's why we recommend buying the e-sticker before departure, because the adhesive sticker system has been discontinued for a few years, so you can't buy a separate track sticker at the border crossings!

You can buy an e-sticker HERE!
