Travel in Slovakia by bus
Slovakia is one of the European countries with the most developed domestic bus transport. With the buses of the Slovak Bus Transport Company (SAD), you can reach practically all Slovak cities and towns. Several private companies provide passenger transport on the most frequented routes. Most buses depart from Bratislava (Autobusová stanica Mlynské Nivy).
Tickets must usually be purchased directly from the bus driver, but can also be purchased together with the seat ticket at bus stations in major cities or online.
In general, it is recommended to combine long-distance rail transport with a local bus service.

Major transport companies offer discounts on all or only designated flights to persons under 26 years of age upon presentation of an identity document, the appropriate youth or student card (ISIC, EURO<26), and to passengers over 60 or 70 years of age an identity document ( identity card or passport) against presentation.
