The Pilis or Pilis Mountains (often mistakenly: Pilis Mountains) are a small geographical area and mountain range on the right bank of the Danube, between Budapest and Esztergom. The easternmost small town of the Transdanubian Central Mountains. The mountain range is separated by the Két-bükkfa-nyerg and the valley of the Szentléleki stream from its northern neighbor, the Visegrád Mountains, which in colloquial language, incorrectly, are usually also considered part of the Pilis Mountains, even though geologically it belongs to the Northern Central Mountains. The mountains are not particularly high, but are visited by many because of their natural values. Its highest elevation is the Pilis roof (756 m).
The six listed peaks are essentially located in one block, the Pilis sasbérce, and are among the highest elevations in the entire Dunazug mountain region; apart from them, only the 699-meter-high Dobogó-kő and the 654-meter-high Öreg-vázás-hegy are among the eight highest mountains of the Dunazug Mountains, in fourth and sixth place, respectively.
